why are you doing this?
Homelessness in London is spiralling out of control. Like so many - we felt helpless and guilty, rushing past a rough sleeper unsure whether to give them change (if we happened to have any coins that day). So we created TAP. A way to support homeless individuals to undertake meaningful employment, while also giving to local charities and services. Makes sense to us.
how do you decide where proceeds are granted?
For launch, we've selected two charities we know to be doing excellent work in London; New Horizons and Shelter from the Storm. We currently have an application in motion with the Charity Commission to set up The TAP Foundation. Once that's approved, independent trustees will grant funds through an application process.
HOW DO YOU RECRUIT VENDORS?
We do the majority of our recruitment through referrals from local charities and shelters. We also ensure we run a regular street outreach, getting out and about to meet London's rough sleepers.
are you a registered charity?
No we aren't. We are a non-profit organisation, registered as a Community Interest Company. This means our assets are locked and we are led by and held accountable to our social aims. You can look us up on Companies House with the number: 10731372.
HOW DO I KNOW IT'S SAFE?
Contactless is the safest way to give. Machines are encrypted to the TAP bank account, meaning that your money can't be diverted, and unlike with cash, there's no chance of petty theft or fraud. Our vendors wear TAP branded clothes, ID badges, and only accept payment by card. If you see anyone selling our artcards without a badge/collecting cash/in their own clothes, please don't purchase anything, and let us know on firstname.lastname@example.org.
DOES TAP RECEIVE MY DATA?
No. We are like any contactless transaction you make on your card. The only thing we see is the name of your bank, and the last four digits of your bank card - pretty useless, eh? You won't ever receive an unsolicited call, text or email from us asking for donations.

Can I get a receipt or refund?
Yes! We love to hear from London-based artists who are interested in submitting work. We accept existing pieces, providing that they weren't created for a client or campaign (we don't want to get sued!). If you want to go the extra mile, we can add you to our list of artists who are willing to create a bespoke piece in response to a selected news story.
DO YOU ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS FOR ARTCARDS?

We pledge that at least £1 of each TAP card purchase will be divided between our 2 chosen charities. As we grow, this will increase - but we need to make sure our vendors are paid and supported first.
