The Gentlemen Baristas raise £20,000 for TAP!

London coffee collective, The Gentlemen Baristas, have raised over £20,000 for homeless Londoners through contactless donations made at their TAP devices. This incredible achievement makes up over 10% of the total raised so far through the TAP London initiative.

We are sure you will agree that this is a laudable milestone which speaks volumes about the incredible team at The Gentlemen Baristas, as well as their generous customers. Abdula at The Gentlemen Baristas Park Street shop is a particular favourite of TAP’s (partly as he gives us incredible banana bread when we go in to check on their device) as they have raised over £6,000 of the total singlehandedly.

Every single penny raised will go to the work of the London Homeless Collective, helping homeless Londoners to get through the difficult winter ahead. You can read more about this milestone here.

As we like to say: not all superheroes serve coffee, but some do!

Edward Parkes, Co-founder, The Gentlemen Baristas, said:

“We’ve been blown away by our customers’ generosity, particularly in such uncertain times. Covid-19 has affected us all but the homeless community has been hit harder than most. We’re proud to work with the extraordinary people at TAP London.”

Polly Gilbert, Co-Founder TAP London, added:

“From launching the TAP initiative in 2018 to living through a pandemic, the GB baristas continue to encourage customers to donate to homelessness every single day. With the need never greater than it is now, we are delighted to celebrate their dedication to alleviating homelessness in London, and raising over 12% of total contactless donations made to TAP”
